Man, Woman Killed in Los Banos Car Crash at Almond Drive and Ortigalita Road
Los Banos, California (January 2, 2021) – Two people were killed Saturday morning in a traffic crash in Los Banos, according to a local news source.
At around 9:35 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Almond Drive and Ortigalita Road for a report of a car accident.
The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle was traveling on the roadway when it crashed into the north guard rail and submerged into the Delta-Mendota Canal.
First responders arrived at the scene and found two bodies, a man and a woman, a mile away from the vehicle in the canal. The names of the victims have not been disclosed pending notification of their families.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
