South Los Angeles, California (July 27, 2021) – Two people were killed after a car crashed into the back of a big rig late Monday night in the Florence-Firestone area of South Los Angeles, authorities said.
At around 10:00 p.m. Monday, July 26, officers responded to the area of 85th Street and Alameda Street to investigate a report of a traffic collision involving the two vehicles.
Following the collision, the car became partially wedged underneath the truck.
Deadly Car, Truck Accident in South Los Angeles
One person in the car was pronounced at the scene while another occupant was taken to a hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. The names of the victims have not been disclosed pending notification of their respective families.
No other injuries were reported.
The accident remains under investigation.
