Man, Woman Seriously Injured in Santa Maria Car Accident on Black Road near Highway 1

Santa Maria, California (July 19, 2019) – Two people were seriously injured Friday evening in a traffic collision west of Santa Maria, according to a local news source.
The wreck took place just before 6:00 p.m. on Black Road near the intersection with Highway 1.
The California Highway Patrol said for unknown reasons a minivan slammed into two farm tractors that were parked on the right-hand shoulder of the highway.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and extricated the male driver of the minivan who was trapped inside the damaged vehicle. The man sustained critical injuries.
A female passenger in the minivan suffered major injuries. The names and condition of the victims at this time were not disclosed.
The crash remains under investigation.
