Two Drivers Hospitalized with Major After Head-on Crash on Highway 101 in Myers Flat
The Hyundai Crossed over to Oncoming Traffic and Collided Head-on with the GMC Yukon Pickup Truck

Myers Flat, California (March 1, 2021) – A man and a woman were injured Monday morning after their vehicles collided head-on on Highway 101 in Myers Flat, the California Highway Patrol stated in a report.
The crash took place at about 7:10 a.m. on Highway 101 north of Salmon Creek.
According to the CHP, a 34-year-old Fortuna man was driving a 2002 GMC Yukon southbound on Highway 101, approaching a northbound 2016 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 21-year-old Fortuna woman. For some reason, the woman’s Hyundai crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the GMC Yukon.
Myers Flat Head-on Crash on Highway 101 Sends Two to Hospital
Authorities say the man and the woman sustained major injuries and were transported by an ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the head-on collision remains under investigation. However, the police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
Officers diverted traffic from Highway 101 onto SR-254 as crews worked to clear the scene.
