2 Killed and 1 Injured in Santa Maria Crash at Donovan Road and Miller Street

Santa Maria, California (March 16, 2019) – Two people were killed and one other was injured Saturday morning in an alleged DUI crash at an intersection in Santa Maria, police said.
The tragic accident took place at about 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Donovan Road and Miller Street.
Authorities said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason at the intersection. Two people were ejected upon the impact.

Firefighters along with paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to the injured parties. Three people were then transported to a hospital where two later succumbed to their injuries. The third person remains in critical condition.
The names of the victims have not been disclosed.
According to police, Javier Artemio Cortes, 27, of Santa Maria, who was the sole occupant of the second vehicle, was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for felony DUI & Vehicular Manslaughter.
