2 Critically Injured in Suspected DUI Crash in Seattle

Seattle, Washington (January 6, 2020) – A DUI suspect was arrested after crashing his car into a Tesla and then clipping the top of a fence on Interstate 5 in Seattle’s Northgate area, a local news source reported.

The accident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday on the Interstate’s off-ramp to North Northgate Way.

As per the article, Seattle firefighters responded to the scene where two people were trapped, and needed extrication, and another was ejected.

An initial investigation revealed that a 23-year-old driver of a Honda Civic was speeding when he went into the air, crashed into the top of a Tesla, and then clipped the top of a fence before going off the ramp and into a retaining ditch.

A 21-year-old man, a 53-year-old woman and a 20-year-old passenger in the Tesla were hospitalized at Harborview Medical Center. The man and woman were listed in critical condition and the passenger in stable condition.

The suspect driver was also hospitalized in stable condition.

Authorities said he was arrested and remained in custody.
