2 CHP Officers Hospitalized, Clovis Driver Arrested after Fountain Valley Crash on 405 Freeway near Warner Avenue
Fountain Valley, California (September 27, 2019) – A Clovis man was arrested following a suspected DUI collision that left two CHP officers and a civilian injured early Friday morning in Fountain Valley, according to a local news source.
The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. on southbound 405 Freeway just south of Warner Avenue.
Authorities said a Toyota Prius and a truck were heading south on the freeway when they were rear-ended by a speeding Chrysler. The impact pushed the Prius off the roadway and it crashed into a CHP patrol vehicle stopped on the side with its lights on.
Two CHP officers were transported to a hospital following the crash. One of them reportedly sustained major injuries and the other had moderate injuries.
The woman who was driving the Prius was also transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.
Teen Arrested after Suspected DUI Crash in Clovis
The driver of the Chrysler, identified as a 19-year-old Clovis man, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
All southbound lanes of the freeway were shut down due to the crash.
The crash is under investigation.
