14-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured in Petaluma Bicycle Accident at Lakeville Street and East Court

Petaluma, California (July 5, 2019) – A 14-year-old Petaluma bicyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Petaluma, according to a police report.
The accident happened at around 3:20 p.m. July 2, at Lakeville Street and East Court.
Police said the teenage boy was crossing westbound Lakeville Street on his bicycle when one driver stopped to let him pass but a second driver struck him.

The boy was transported by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial’s trauma center for treatment of major injuries including a fractured jaw.
The driver of the vehicle involved, identified as Ruby Badilla‑Sanchez, 23, of Santa Rosa, stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Police said impairment did not appear to be a factor in the collision.
Police are investigating the incident.
