Rider Killed in Motorcycle Accident on 5 Freeway near Balboa Avenue in San Diego
San Diego, California (March 21, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in San Diego on Saturday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash happened on northbound Interstate 5 Freeway south of Balboa Avenue at about 5:43 p.m.
A motorcycle was traveling on the roadway when it crashed on the freeway near the Mission Bay Golf Course.
The emergency crews who responded to the incident found the rider down on the right-hand shoulder.
The unidentified motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two lanes of the freeway were temporarily shut down as the authorities examined the scene.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
