San Diego, California (August 30, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal car crash that occurred on 8 Freeway in San Diego on early Sunday morning.
The deadly crash happened on the westbound Mission Valley (8) Freeway near Mission Gorge Road and Fairmount Avenue at about 12:40 a.m.
The number of vehicles involved in the crash was not immediately established.
Multiple CHP units responded to the scene of the accident.
The San Diego Fire Department said at least one person was killed in the accident.
The collision resulted in the temporary closure of the freeway.
