1 Killed in Fresno County Crash on San Diego and Belmont Avenues
San Diego, California (May 3, 2021) – One person was killed in a traffic collision on San Diego and Belmont avenues on Friday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place at around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, April 30.
CHP said a 19-year-old man was traveling at a high rate of speed when he slammed into the left side of an eastbound Freightliner hauling an empty 53-foot box trailer.
The teenage driver died in the crash.
The other motorist, a 55-year-old, was uninjured in the accident.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the accident, CHP said.
The crash is under investigation.
