1 Killed in Bakersfield Car Crash at Panama Lane and Highway 43

Bakersfield, California (November 29, 2020) – At least one person was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Southwest Bakersfield on Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision was reported at about 2:30 a.m. at Panama Lane and Highway 43.
A 19-year-old driver lost control of a vehicle and overturned within the eastbound lane of Panama Lane. A short time later, a Toyota Camry crashed into the overturned vehicle.
The unidentified driver of the first vehicle died at the scene of the accident.
The other driver sustained major injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
