One Killed in Potrero Crash at Hartley Hill and Round Potrero Roads
Potrero, California (November 5, 2020) – A person was killed Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle traffic collision at an intersection in Potrero, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly accident happened just before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hartley Hill and Round Potrero roads, just north of state Route 94.
According to the CHP, a vehicle was traveling when it veered off the roadway at the Potrero intersection and hit a power pole. The car then caught fire.
Authorities said the car crash sparked a brush fire that burned approximately three acres in size. Firefighters responded to the scene and contained the fire.
One person died at the scene. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of family.
The crash remains under investigation.
