Merced, California (May 24, 2021) – A three-vehicle accident has claimed the life of one person Sunday night at an intersection in Merced, the California Highway Patrol said.
The deadly crash occurred just before 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at the intersection of Yosemite Avenue and Lake Road near UC Merced.
According to CHP, the collision involved three vehicles. Details on what led up to the accident at this time are unknown.
Fatal Multi-Car Wreck in Merced
One person, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died in the crash. The name of the victim was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
No other injuries were immediately reported.
The accident remains under investigation.
