One Person Killed in Scotts Valley Crash on Highway 17 near Mt. Hermon Road

Scotts Valley, California (June 5, 2021) – A two-car accident has claimed the life of one person Friday night in Scotts Valley, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deadly crash took place on the northbound side of Highway 17, just north of Mt. Hermon Road.
According to the CHP, a black pick-up truck was traveling at a high rate of speed on the highway when it collided with another car.
The car then slammed into the bushes after the collision.

The driver of the pick-up truck died at the scene. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
Northbound lanes of Highway 17 were closed for several hours following the wreck.
