Yin Wu Killed in Venice Pedestrian Accident on Lincoln Boulevard
Yin Wu ID’d as Elderly Man Struck and Killed by Electric Scooter on Lincoln Boulevard at East Marco Court in Venice
Venice, California (June 1, 2021) – The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Bureau has identified the elderly pedestrian who died after being struck by a motorized scooter Saturday night in Venice as Yin Wu, 91.
The deadly accident occurred at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, May 29, on Lincoln Boulevard at East Marco Court.
According to the police, Wu was walking on a sidewalk on Lincoln Boulevard when he was struck by an electric rental scooter that was being driven northbound by James Cody Skene, 29.
Following the collision, Wu hit his head on the pavement while Skene and his female passenger were thrown off the scooter and landed onto the sidewalk.
Wu was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures performed by the medical personnel.
Skene stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was booked into custody but was later released after posting $100,000 bail.
