Clearlake, California (October 15, 2019) – One of the two people who were airlifted to the hospital after a traffic collision involving a suspected DUI driver early Saturday morning in Clearlake has been identified as Yessica Pantino, 23, of Clearlake, according to a local news source.

The collision took place at about 1:46 a.m. October 12, on Highway 29, just south of Bottle Rock Road.

According to a CHP report, a 2003 Acura was traveling northbound on Highway 29 when it drifted into the southbound side and collided with a 2017 Acura driven by Pantino.

Pantino’s Acura spun in a counterclockwise direction while the northbound Acura rolled and came to rest on its wheels.

Yessica Pantino Injured in Clearlake 2-Vehicle Crash

Pantino was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by firefighters. She sustained minor injuries and was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial. A passenger in her car was also airlifted to Santa Rosa with major injuries.

A 16-year-old boy in Pantino’s Acura also sustained major injuries and was transported to Sutter Lakeside Hospital. A third passenger was treated for minor injuries.

The two occupants of the Acura were hospitalized with minor injuries. They were later arrested and booked at the Lake County Jail. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI while the passenger was taken into custody for obstruction of a peace officer’s investigation, giving false information, and disorderly conduct.

CHP is investigating the accident.
