Yermo, CA: Fatal Semi-Truck Crash on I-15 Freeway
Man Killed in 15 Freeway Accident near Calico Road in Yermo Friday morning
Yermo, California (April 11, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a traffic accident that claimed the life of a Yermo man early Friday morning in Yermo.
The fatal crash happened at around 2:50 a.m. Friday, April 10 on southbound Interstate 15 Freeway, just south of Calico Road and involved a 2006 Pontiac G6 and a tractor-trailer combination vehicle.
The CHP said the Pontiac G6 was traveling in the number one lane on southbound Interstate 15 Freeway when he slammed into the tractor-trailer combination vehicle that had become disabled due to an earlier accident.
The Pontiac’s driver, only identified as a 66-year-old Yermo man, died at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is underway. Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to call the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Area at 760-255-5900.
