Woodland Hills Woman Hit, Seriously Injured by Vehicle on Highway 101 in Gaviota Coast
36-Year-Old Woodland Hills Woman Injured in Gaviota Coast Pedestrian Crash on Highway 101 near Arroyo Quemada

Gaviota Coast, California (January 28, 2021) – A 36-year-old Woodland Hills woman was hit and seriously injured by a vehicle on Wednesday afternoon in Gaviota Coast, authorities said.
The major injury pedestrian accident happened at about 2:15 p.m., on January 27, on Highway 101, in the southbound lanes south of Arroyo Quemada, near Refugio State Beach.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 36-year-old woman had pulled over to the side of the highway and exited her vehicle, and entered the southbound traffic lanes.
Unfortunately, the woman was struck by a 2015 Freightliner tractor-trailer, driven by Rosa Rivas, 52, of Laredo, Texas.
Woman Injured in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 101
The woman sustained major injuries and was aided at the scene and transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.
