Thu Nguyen ID’d as Victim Killed After Truck Tire Hits Tesla on Interstate 5 Freeway in San Clemente
San Clemente, California (November 25, 2019) – 38-year-old Thu Nguyen has been identified as the female victim killed after her car was struck by a truck tire in San Clemente Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash was reported at about 8:53 a.m. November 22, on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway at Avenida Mendocino.
As per the CHP report, a white container truck tire bounced over the center divider from the southbound side of the Interstate 5 and crashed into the red 2018 Tesla Model 3 driven by Nguyen northbound on the highway.
The truck, which had XPO written in red on the side, pulled over onto the shoulder and stopped by the Cristianitos Road off-ramp.

Nguyen was sadly pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The detectives handling the case are gathering more details to identify the cause of the fatal crash.
