Woman Dies in Del Mar Car Accident on Interstate 5 near De La Valle Saturday morning
Del Mar, California (July 12, 2020) – A woman was killed in a traffic accident involving a semi-truck in Del Mar Saturday morning, according to a local news source.
The deadly collision happened at about 2:15 a.m. Saturday, July 11 on Interstate 5, just south of Via De La Valle.
According to the police, a car collided with a semi-truck in the northbound lane of the interstate.
As a result of the collision, the car’s engine block was ejected onto the freeway, causing a second accident involving an AMR ambulance.
Fatal Injury Crash on Interstate 5 in Del Mar
First responders arrived at the scene and extricated the woman who was trapped in the wreckage. She was then taken to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Her name was withheld pending notification of family.
No one was injured in the second collision.
More details about the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
