Woman Killed in Car Accident on 5 Freeway near Taft Highway in Buttonwillow

Buttonwillow, California (April 13, 2021) – A woman was killed in a suspected DUI car crash in Buttonwillow on Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on southbound 5 Freeway near Taft Highway at about 8:07 a.m.
54-year-old Scott Charles Page, of Oroville, was driving a 2004 Nissan Murano when he lost control, crossed the southbound lanes and overturned in a dirt area.
A woman who was riding in the vehicle was ejected from the SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Page was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
