Woman Hospitalized after Modesto Dog Attack at Modesto Outdoor Emergency Shelter

Modesto, California (October 21, 2019) – A 58-year-old woman was injured after being attacked by a dog in Modesto Monday morning, authorities said.
The accident happened at the Modesto Outdoor Emergency Shelter at an unspecified time in the morning.
According to the authorities, the victim was outside another resident’s tent visiting her and the dog was inside the tent.
As the woman opened her tent, the dog, an 80-pound Saint Bernard/pitbull mix, came out and attacked the victim.

The woman was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, including puncture wounds to her head and leg.
The dog, a 10-month-old female, named Fema, was taken by animal control to be quarantined.
The incident remains under investigation.
