Woman Dies After Vehicle Crashes Into Grand Century Mall in San Jose
Woman Killed in San Jose Crash near Story and McLaughlin Roads

San Jose, California (October 14, 2020) – One of the eight people who were injured when a vehicle crashed into an outdoor dining area at Grand Century Mall Sunday afternoon in San Jose has died.
The crash happened at around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, October 11, at the Dynasty Chinese seafood restaurant, near Story Road and McLaughlin Avenue.
Authorities said a 69-year-old man was attempting to park his 2004 Toyota 4-Runner when he accidentally accelerated before striking three women and five men who were at the outdoor dining in the Grand Century Mall.
All eight people and the driver of the Toyota were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Two patients sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash.
Sadly, one of the three women succumbed to her injuries on Monday. Her name was withheld pending notification of family.
