605 Freeway Crash near Highway 60 in Whittier Results in Major Injuries
Whittier, California (February 17, 2020) – Major injuries were sustained in a two-vehicle collision that happened Sunday afternoon on 605 Freeway in Whittier, the California Highway Patrol reported.
CHP said the crash occurred at about 12:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes just north of Highway 60.
The two vehicles collided for unknown reasons. One of them possibly caught fire after the impact.
Responding emergency crews said the crash resulted in major injuries. They did not, however, mention the number of victims.
The vehicles were towed away from the collision scene.
The Nos. 1, 2, and 3 lanes were closed to allow investigators to work the scene.
CHP is investigating the accident.
