Wesley Wentker Killed in Bicycle Accident at Santa Fe Street and K Road in Visalia, Joreill Cabral Arrested
Visalia, California (July 16, 2020) – A bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle in southeast Visalia on Tuesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal bicycle accident happened at Santa Fe Street and K Road at about 6:20 p.m. July 14.
63-year-old Wesley Wentker was riding a bicycle on the roadway when he was struck by a GMC Yukon driven by Joreill Cabral, 28.
Man Killed in DUI Bicycle Accident in Visalia, Joreill Cabra Arrested
Wentker was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center where he died while undergoing treatment.
Cabral was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The accident resulted in the temporary closure of Santa Fe Avenue between K Avenue and Walnut Avenue.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
