Weed Car Collision on Interstate 5 near Edgewood Road Seriously Injures 1 Victim
Weed, California (November 8, 2020) – One person was hospitalized with major injuries after being involved in a traffic collision Friday evening in Weed, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The major injury crash took place along the Interstate 5, just north of Edgewood Road, at about 6:05 p.m.
The accident happened when a white full-size Chevrolet pickup truck, heading southbound on the freeway, veered off to avoid striking a 400-pound bear on the roadway.
The Chevrolet pickup then crashed with a southbound Toyota Corolla in the evening hours.
Due to the impact, one of the involved vehicles overturned several times. Officials said a third car might have been involved in the wreck.

One unidentified victim was hospitalized with major injuries following the mishap.
