At Least One Injured Watsonville Crash on Freedom Boulevard
Watsonville, California (September 12, 2019) – At least one person was injured when a police chase ended in a traffic collision involving three vehicles on Wednesday afternoon in Watsonville, according to police.
The crash happened on Freedom Boulevard on Wednesday, September 11.
Police said a man was driving an Acura sedan erratically on Freedom Boulevard when the authorities tried to pull him over. The man failed to stop and fled from the police.
Police initiated a chase but then ended it due to the man’s dangerous driving.
The suspect continued with the reckless driving and collided head-n with a Honda Civic shortly after. A third vehicle then crashed into the Honda.
The woman driving the Honda was injured in the crash.
The driver of the Acura tried to flee the scene but was later found and arrested. He was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The crash caused a closure of Freedom Boulevard in both directions as the scene was examined and cleared.
The crash is under investigation.
