Visalia, CA: 1 Airlifted to Hospital after Traffic Crash at Avenue 280 and Road 48
1 Hospitalized with Severe Injuries after Visalia Car Crash at Avenue 280 and Road 48
Visalia, California (January 20, 2021) – One person was airlifted to the hospital after a two-vehicle traffic crash that happened Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Visalia.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a milk tanker and a pickup truck collided at about 1:30 p.m. on Avenue 280 at Road 48 for unknown reasons.
The vehicles were blocking the westbound lanes of Avenue 280 after the crash.
Major Injury Traffic Crash in Visalia
One person was trapped in one of the vehicles. Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the victim.
An air ambulance was requested to transport one person who sustained severe injuries to the hospital. The roadway remained closed to allow the helicopter to land and airlift the patient to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
Both vehicles were towed away from the collision scene.
CHP is investigating to determine the factors that led to the crash.
