Victorville, California (October 31, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday night traffic accident involving a big rig that killed two people and left two others injured in Victorville.

The deadly two-vehicle accident happened at about 11:48 p.m., on October 29, on National Trails Highway south of Circle Road.

As per the police report, a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling southbound on the highway when it collided with a northbound 2014 Freightliner.

The Chevy reportedly crossed into the Freightliner path, and the vehicles collided in the northbound lane.

First responders arrived at the scene and found three passengers in the Chevy still seated in the vehicle while both drivers were out.

2 Killed, 2 Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on National Trails Highway

Two rear passengers in the Chevy, a 33-year-old woman from Hesperia and a 22-year-old man from Wrightwood, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 45-year-old man from Barstow was transported to Victor Valley Global Medical Center. He was the driver of the Chevy. His 58-year-old female passenger also from Barstow sustained major injuries and was flown to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

The 35-year-old male driver of the semi from Firebaugh was not injured in the accident.

Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the mishap.

The crash remains under investigation.
