2 Drivers Hospitalized after Victorville Car Accident at Hesperia Road and Seneca Road
Victorville, California (May 28, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a fiery head-on car crash that left two drivers injured on Thursday morning in Victorville.
The crash happened at about 12:20 a.m., at the intersection of Hesperia Road and Seneca Road.
As per the police report, a 2000 Ford, driven by a 19-year-old male from Victorville, collided head-on with a 2017 Hyundai, operated by a 32-year-old female from Hesperia.
The Ford was reportedly traveling northbound on Hesperia Road allegedly at a high rate of speed when it lost control and struck the Hyundai, which was driving southbound on Hesperia Road at the time.
Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles following the accident. The engine compartment of the Ford caught fire as a result of the impact, and the fire began to spread to the passenger compartment, the officials said.
First responders arrived at the scene and extricated the trapped drivers. The Hyundai driver was unconscious while the Ford driver was conscious.
Major Injury Head-On Crash at Hesperia Road in Victorville
The two drivers were airlifted to trauma centers for the treatment of their injuries. The Hyundai driver was in stable condition while the Ford driver’s condition was unknown.
One among two passengers in the Ford sustained non-life threatening injuries while the other was uninjured.
