Victor Medina Jr. Injured in DUI Crash at Bellevue Road and Santa Fe Drive in Atwater
Victor Medina Jr. ID’d as Driver Injured in Atwater Car Accident at Bellevue Road and Santa Fe Drive
Atwater, California (October 28, 2019) – Victor Medina Jr., has been identified as the driver who was injured late Friday night in an alleged DUI crash in Atwater, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident, which was reported at around 11:17 p.m. Friday, October 25, happened in the area of Bellevue Road and Santa Fe Drive.
According to a local news report, a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle driven by Medina, was heading eastbound on Santa Fe Drive while a 2016 Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on East Bellevue Road.
The driver of the Honda tried to make a right turn onto Santa Fe but allegedly took the turn too wide. The Honda ended up in the eastbound lane, where it collided with the Volkswagen at the intersection.
Medina complained of pain but refused medical aid.
Officers who responded to the scene determined that the driver of the Civic was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage when the accident happened.
The intoxicated driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The accident remains under investigation.
