Ventura, California (December 31, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle Tuesday night at an intersection in Ventura, according to a local news source.

The major injury pedestrian collision was reported at about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, at the intersection of Montgomery Avenue and North Bank Drive.

Authorities said the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the intersection for undetermined reasons.

Paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to the pedestrian who sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. The patient was then transported to a local hospital for treatment. However, the name and condition of the victim were not immediately disclosed.

The involved driver stopped at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.

Police closed the intersection while the investigation took place.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
