Visalia, California (January 19, 2021) – Vanessa Mangarrez, 32, has been identified as the woman who was injured in a Tuesday morning traffic accident in Visalia, authorities said.

The single-vehicle accident happened at about 1:22 a.m. on Highway 198 near Noble Avenue.

According to the police, a vehicle driven by Mangarrez was headed eastbound on Noble Avenue when it drifted off the roadway and crashed into a fence on the north side of the street.

Mangarrez’s vehicle then continued eastbound on the highway’s upper dirt embankment until it smashed into a tree.

Mangarrez was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

Once Mangarrez is medically cleared, she’ll be booked into Tulare County Pretrial Facility on suspicion of DUI and driving with a suspended license, the officials said.

The crash remains under investigation.
