Valerio Estrada Killed in Petaluma Tricycle Accident on Lakeville Street
Valerio Estrada ID’d as Tricyclist Killed in Crash on Lakeville Street near In-N-Out Burger Restaurant
Petaluma, California ( November 5, 2019) – The Sonoma County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was struck and killed by a semi-truck while riding a tricycle last month in south Petaluma as Valerio Estrada, 89, of Petaluma.
The deadly accident happened at about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday. October 23 on Lakeville Street in front of In-N-Out Burger restaurant.
Authorities said two semi-trucks were stopped at a stop sign in front of the burger restaurant. As the light changed, the trucks went through the intersection and one of them hit Estrada on his tricycle.
Estrada was struck by the trailer part of the semi-truck that was being driven by the dairy company Clover Sonoma.
Estrada died upon the impact.
The driver of the truck stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Authorities are still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
