Healdsburg Man Arrested after Sonoma County Car Crash on Alexander Valley near Lone Pine Road
Santa Rosa, California (June 19, 2021) – Authorities have arrested a suspect involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a woman injured Tuesday night in Sonoma County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, in the area of Alexander Valley Road and West Soda Rock Lane.
CHP said Daniel Trippel, 39, of Healdsburg, was driving a white Chevrolet work truck eastbound on Alexander Valley Road, approaching State Route 128, when he allowed the vehicle to cross into the westbound lane, where it sideswiped a Toyota Rav4 driven by the woman.
Trippel continued eastbound and ran two more vehicles off the road, although he did not collide with them. Trippel’s vehicle then veered off the road and slammed into a metal guardrail.
The driver of the Toyota sustained moderate injuries and declined transportation to the hospital.
Trippel, who was not injured, was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI involving drugs and causing injury, felony hit-and-run causing injury, possession of drugs, being an addict driving a vehicle and driving on a suspended license, and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Further details about the crash were not immediately provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
