2 Injured, 1 Seriously in University City Car Crash on Genesee Avenue

University City, California (March 22, 2021) – Two people were injured Sunday morning in a single-vehicle traffic accident in University City, according to a local news source.
The major injury collision occurred at about 9:10 a.m. Sunday, March 21, on Genesee Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, a Scion was attempting to pull out of Genesee Avenue when the driver lost control and went up a steep embankment on the right shoulder.
The vehicle went airborne and then crashed through a fence. It then rolled over and landed on its roof.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and extricated the driver who was trapped in the wreckage. He was then taken to Scripps La Jolla Hospital with major injuries.
A female passenger sustained moderate injuries and was also transported to the hospital.
