Sonora, California (February 6, 2020) – A deadly Tuolumne County plane crash left two persons dead on Wednesday evening, February 5, in Sierra Nevada Foothills, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash happened in Sonora in 21000 block of Springfield Road near Horseshoe Bend Road, a while after 6:00 p.m.
As per the report, a single-engine Cessna 140A crashed in a field behind a home near the Columbia Airport, around 70 miles southeast of Sacramento.
Deadly Plane Accident Claims Two Lives, Wednesday Evening
Responding firefighters declared two persons aboard the plane dead at the scene.
The nearby communities were reportedly safe after the accident.
It was not immediately known where the plane was flying to.
Authorities said that the National Transportation Safety Board was informed about the accident.
