Torrance, CA: Fatal Small Plane Crash at Crenshaw Boulevard

Torrance, California (September 19, 2019) – A person was killed and another was seriously injured when a small plane crashed into the roof of a commercial building, just east of Torrance Municipal Airport Thursday, according to a local news report.

The fatal plane accident was reported at around noon Thursday in the 25300 block of Crenshaw Boulevard.

Authorities said a single-engine Cessna 177 carrying two people had just left the Runway 11R of the Torrance airport when for reasons still under investigation, it struck a building.

One person died in the accident. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

One other person sustained major injuries. The patient’s injuries at this time remain unknown.

The FAA is still investigating the cause of the accident.
