Man Killed in Torrance Pedestrian Crash on Crenshaw Boulevard and Maricopa Street
Torrance, California (March 16, 2019) – A man was fatally hit by a suspected DUI driver in Torrance early Saturday morning, according to the Torrance Police Department.
The crash occurred at about 6:00 a.m. near Crenshaw Boulevard and Maricopa Street.
Police said a man was walking across the street outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by a 2018 Nissan Sentra, traveling southbound on Crenshaw Boulevard.
Man Dies in Torrance Pedestrian Accident
The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Sentra was arrested on suspicion of DUI after police recovered suspected narcotics from her vehicle. She was also operating the vehicle without a license.
The Torrance Police Department is investigating the incident.
