Tomasa Vargas ID’d as 1 of 2 Women Killed in Sonoma Valley Car Crash on Highway 12 near Oakmont Drive
Sonoma Valley, California (January 5, 2021) – Tomasa Valero Vargas, 44, of Sonoma, has been identified as one of the two women who were killed in a two-vehicle accident on Monday morning in Sonoma Valley, according to the Sonoma County Coroner’s Office.
The deadly accident happened at about 8:20 a.m., on January 4, on Highway 12, east of Oakmont Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Nissan Sentra, driven by Alondra Bandt Valero, 21, of Sonoma, was headed westbound on Highway 12 while a Chevrolet truck, operated by Michael Williams, 60, of Santa Rosa, was traveling on the eastbound side of the highway.
Unfortunately, Valero lost control on a curve and crossed into the opposite lane, where it collided with the Chevrolet. The front of the Chevrolet crashed into the right side of the Nissan.

Sadly, Valero and her mother, Vargas, were pronounced dead at the crash site.
Williams sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.
