Dixon, California (June 22, 2021) – The teen who died in a crash involving a big rig early Sunday morning in Dixon has been identified as Tiana Hawkins, 17, of Sacramento, according to the Solano County Coroner’s Office.
The incident happened on I-80 near Dixon Avenue at around 12:48 a.m. June 20.
According to authorities, a red Freightliner truck was westbound on I-80 approaching the scene of an earlier crash when it slammed into vehicles at the site.
Hawkins, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, had stepped out and was standing on the side of the road when she was also struck by the big rig.
Authorities said Hawkins died in the crash.
No further details were available.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
