Thomas Vargas, Lilah Hospitalized after Fatal Hesperia Car Accident on Escondido Avenue and Sultana Street
Hesperia, California (August 15, 2020) – Thomas Vargas and her daughter Lilah have been identified as the victims who were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash that killed two people on Friday night in Hesperia, police said.
The fatal crash occurred at about 8:41 p.m., on August 14, at the intersection of Escondido Avenue and Sultana Street.
According to the authorities, a Honda CRV, a dark-colored GMC Yukon, and a white Acura collided at the intersection.
As a result of the collision, the Acura was split into two. The Yukon caught fire, which was contained by a Good Samaritan who stopped to assist.

The Acura’s driver and one other party in the Yukon, Darla Soto-Vargas, of Victor Valley, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Thomas Vargas and Lilah sustained critical injuries and were taken to Loma Linda Hospital.
The Honda CRV’s driver was not hurt in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
