At Least 1 Severely Injured in Thermal Car Crash on Highway 86 at Sunrise Drive
Thermal, California (January 4, 2021) – One person was airlifted to the hospital with severe injuries after a traffic collision that happened Sunday afternoon in Thermal.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles collided at about 2:10 p.m. on southbound Highway 86 at Sunrise Drive.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and requested an air ambulance to transport at least one person who sustained severe injuries. Mercy Air responded to the scene and airlifted the female victim to the hospital for treatment of internal injuries.
Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the scene, including one that was blocking eastbound Sunrise Drive.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
