41-Year-Old Tarzana Man Killed, Canal Winchester Man Critically Injured in Car Accident on 405 Freeway near Victory Boulevard in Van Nuys

Van Nuys, California (January 1, 2021) – A driver was killed and a passenger was critically injured early Friday morning in a single-vehicle traffic collision in Van Nuys, according to a local news source.
The California Highway Patrol said the fatal accident occurred on Interstate 405 Freeway near the Victory Boulevard exit at about 3:40 a.m.
A 41-year-old Tarzana man was driving a 2017 Audi R8 southbound on 405 Freeway when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed in a field near the Woodley Park Archery Range.
The vehicle reportedly burst into flames after the crash.
Deadly Crash on 405 Freeway in Van Nuys
The driver was pinned inside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 38-year-old man from Canal Winchester, Ohio, was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The name of the deceased victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
