Rider Seriously Injured in Tahoe City Bicycle Accident on State Route 28 at Old Mill Road
Tahoe City, California (June 18, 2019) – The California Highway Patrol said a bicyclist was seriously injured in an accident that happened Tuesday morning in Tahoe City.
The CHP had initially stated that the rider died in the crash, but retracted that.
The accident happened at around 7:40 a.m. on State Route 28 at Old Mill Road in Dollar Point about 2 miles north of Tahoe City.
As per the report, a 16-year-old driver hit the bicyclist. The driver told investigators that the sun got his eyes and he struck the rider.
The bicyclist sustained serious injuries in the accident.
The incident remains under an active investigation.
