Tabitha Leslie Fatal Big Rig Crash in Tulare County Thursday Morning

Tulare County, California (October 25, 2019) – A woman who died in a head-on collision involving a big rig Thursday morning in Tulare County has been identified.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 4:47 a.m. on Road 100, also known as Akers Street between Avenue 272 and Avenue 264.

Authorities said 35-year-old Tabitha Leslie, of Modesto, was traveling northbound on Road 100 in a 2009 Lexus when, for unknown reasons, veered into the path of a southbound big rig.

The two vehicles collided head-on. The driver of the truck, 25-year-old David Jones, of Visalia, attempted to avoid the collision but was not able to.

Leslie sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The truck’s trailer overturned onto its side. Leslie’s car acquired major front-end damage.

An investigation into the crash is in progress.
