Sydney Bettencourt Killed in Livermore Pedestrian Accident on First Street at Larch Lane
Sydney Bettencourt ID’d as Livermore Woman Hit, Killed by Vehicle on First Street at Larch Lane

Livermore, California (November 27, 2019) – The coroner’s bureau has identified the woman who was hit and killed by a vehicle Friday evening in Livermore as Sydney Gay Bettencourt, 78, of Livermore.
The deadly accident happened at around 5:30 p.m. Friday, November 22 on First Street at Larch Lane.
Authorities said Bettencourt was driving southbound on First Street when for an unknown reason, she crashed into the center divider.
Bettencourt, who was the sole occupant, exited her car and walked to a sidewalk. Moments later, Bettencourt walked back toward her crashed vehicle and was hit by a northbound car driven by a Livermore man.
Bettencourt was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Livermore man stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Speed, drugs, and alcohol were not suspected factors in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
