Swati Tyagi Killed in La Jolla Bicycle Accident on North Torrey Pines Road near La Jolla Village Drive
La Jolla, California (June 25, 2021) – The bicyclist who died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in La Jolla has been identified as Swati Tyagi, 34, according to a local news source.
The deadly bicycle accident happened at around 4:20 p.m. June 23 on the southbound side of North Torrey Pines Road near La Jolla Village Drive.
Authorities said Tyagi was riding her bicycle in the right lane when she merged into the left lane and was rear-ended by a 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500 driven by a 74-year-old man.

Tyagi was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol or drugs were not believed to be factors in the collision.
