2 Injured in Sunol Big Rig Crash on 680 Freeway near Vargas Road
Sunol, California (September 16, 2019) – Two persons were injured after a big rig collision early Monday morning in the area of Sunol, according to a local news source.
The collision was reported at 1:48 a.m. Monday, on 680 Freeway, near Vargas Road.
As per the report, a tractor-trailer jackknifed was hit by three vehicles including a fuel tanker. The impact caused the fuel tanker to be punctured spilling at least 3800 gallons of fuel in the roadway.

Two persons complained of pain as a result of the crash but were not hospitalized.
Officials closed all lanes to give way to a clearing operation. Traffic was diverted off the freeway at Vargas Road.
An investigation is underway.
